    Diff differences

Hey guys just swapping my front diff as I suspect there's too much play in the existing one. Can anybody explain the differences in the supports, obviously the one on the left is a improved version. (See pic)

I'm also replacing the cv's as the splines are totally stuffed. Just wondering why some say to take the whole swivel hub assembly off for changing a diff but not when you change a cv, when your essentially doing the same thing? Is it just a case of replacing the swivel hub gasket, because most of the work is already done ?

G'day firsttracks, the bearing caps are different, not sure that they are stronger but the diff carriers are the same, so in reality they are no different in strength.

If it was only the diff being changed then removing the whole swivel assembly saves you pulling the swivel apart and removing cv and half shaft etc.
