Just get a different brand of brake pads, there are different types with different strengths. I'm sure 10 people will come on soon and recommend 10 different favourite pad brands.

Today was the coldest it's been in Melbourne since I got the car.
No squeal.
Drove it on freeway for over 2 hours.
No squeal??

check the brake booster, in a low speed environment pull and plug the vac line to the booster and go for a short drive. test the brakes as agressively as you can.
you could be up against one of 2 things, the whole thing is leaking and whislting at you through the vent that comes through into the cab o the shaft or with the vac applied it might be holding just enough position to hold the brakes just touching when you take your foot off the brakes.

But could the temperature affect it?
Whatever the problem is.. it's heat related. Because in todays cold weather the problem went away.
And it was worse when the weather was hot few days ago

OK, this is a little bit left field but I had a similar issue coming from the rear of mine. Fine under brakes, but would squeal near constantly when off them, especially when warmed up. Drove me nuts. I engaged the technical bods at Bendix as well and tried just about everything (different pads, deglazing, chamfering different ways, anti-seize on the pad edges, anti-squeal glue on the backings, etc) to no avail. The actual cause? The sheetmetal brake backing plates (dust shields). Both rears had cracked mountings. Something in the pad/disc interaction was sending a vibration through to them and they were resonating. I removed the shields and have never seen the issue since (years, and years now). Replacing or re-welding the mounts may have fixed it, but removing them entirely certainly did.
It might not be be this in your case, but worth a look. I'd suggest you stick a few magnets to the shields and see if it still does it or changes how it does it. The magnets will add weight and change the natural frequency of the shields, changing their sensitivity to what's exciting them.
