    Thumbs up DISCO 1 KEY NEEDED

    Hi folks, I've just bought a 1994 Disco 1 Tdi at auction which comes minus any keys. They have provided the key number but i'm wondering if there is any way to get one from Land Rover or elsewhere. Any help appreciated.

    Your local Locksmith should be able to cut you one from the number. Take your VIN and some proof of purchase when you go in just incase.

    The locksmiths have the plain keys. If you want an original plastic handled one go to a Land Rover parts supplier for an OEM blank. I got one recently, after mine broke in half, from British Car Components in Melbourne. Less than $15 - it cost more to get it cut from a good locksmith - did not want to risk ruining it at a mall key shop.

    I took my VIN to the local LR dealer, who gave me a code, which I took to the locksmith, who cut me some keys. All up about $25 and 40 minutes on the pushbike.
