    Angry Gear box output shaft

    Hi ,

Can any one tell me please if the shaft section, the oil seal runs on is removable from the shaft. It has damage to it causing it to leak. Its the shaft that can be seen when removing the transfercase

There is a special landrover tool to take it off and back on. From what ive seen they are quite tight. Need hydraulic help. I got a gearbox place to pull it off for me and press new one on. $120. Pretty steep.

the spud shaft comes off by undoing the bolt head on the end of it,
may be easier to change the seal this way...
