    Door Handles Sticking

    Hey folks,

I have a Discovery 1 and some of the outside door handles will only open the doors when you give the door a quick push in at the same time as using the handle. The doors open fine using the inside door handles.

I was hoping someone may have had the same symptom in the past and know what the cause was?

    Thanks

You need to adjust the rod on the inside of the door handle.

Just remove the door trim, disconnect the clip holding the rod to the inside of the exterior handle and give it a couple of turns, clockwise I think, and reconnect the clip.

OH and welcome to the forum, you will become addicted to all the information on here in no time :-)

    Smile

    Thanks for the info!
I will try that first thing tomorrow - hope i don't break too many clips off... Spent most of today cleaning up a transmission that will be going into the same discovery. I see you have an impressive list of land rovers you own yourself.
I have a list as long as my arm of things to do on the disco, but i just cant have sticky door handles!
Will let you know how i go.
    Thanks

I have a list longer than my arm to do to most of them, but I don't have the income to fund it all, so they are mostly loooong term projects.

When you adjust them, do it a little at a time till you get it how you like it.

    Yep, that fixed the problem.
I originally over adjusted the rod thinking that it cant be over adjusted as it would just open the door easier but that's not the case. Backed it off a bit and bingo - all good.
    Thanks!
