    Ehehehe, sucker

Nothing except full on mud tyres with lot of rpm and self clearing threads works on wet clay!!! On my old 60 series I had some good allterrains, once I was on clay, forget it, they filled up in seconds and became 4 rollers, same with road tyres.

Hahah..yeah it didnt matter, was on my own property. I got it out after waiting a couple of hours after rain stopped...then rev up to 3k....wait change to reverse.....rev...wait...back to fwd etc.....u get the picture...all while turning steering back and forth....

well...blew the EGT probe out. Only at 3K revs and 550C EGT, 86C water temp.. Time to tighten the probe.

I disagree, the clay and tyres have mixed really thoroughly, I cant tell where one stops and the other begins.

Until you take it out on the sealed road, then it becomes this too slow to overtake anything, diesel guzzling, all rattling, can't hear yourself above 100 km/h, 2 tonne vibrator. My old 60 "the mallet" was like this anyway. Loved it in the bush, hated it as daily driver. That's why "upgraded" to my D1 the "lilac"

    theres nothing wrong with it...

you just havent learnt how to talk to it properly yet. you have to remember its a bit like the english language, they just went and borrowed bits and pieces from here and there that sounded good at the time. Which they then balanced with a very large dose of pig headedness, decided they had to re-invent the wheel and did just whatever the hell they thought seemd like a good idea at the time.

Sometimes they did class leading work, others well, I think we can forgive the marque for the freelander.

Well mine had 2H with aftermarket turbo on it. Like everything else on that car. It was just unbreakable. Things I've done to it.....and it just kept going I'd think twice before taking disco there. Which doesn't mean that I wouldn't......I'd just pause for a moment

Yeah when I crossed over to D1 I aksed myself few times " what were they on when they made this" but I'm getting used to it.

Yeah...I agree. If the bloody engine settles I think the disco will be good, good off road handling, comfortable, economical and spanner simple, but the old landcruisers are darn hard to beat.
