Stray current kills alloy radiators land rovers a shockers for stray current problems if it was mine I wouldn't fit one.
I'd say cap them if you can. Keeps them clean if you want to use them later.
I think they are 3 core i.e. 3 cores thick. I had the Perentie radiator re cored. Worked well for me.
A couple of years ago I changed the radiator in the Commodore. They last around ten years in the Commodore. They put an aluminium one in it. Told me the copper ones are NLA. Didn't last long. Eleven months later it sprung a leak in the cores.
If you are going for an aluminium radiator, you may need to look at the coolant you are running.
Don't be afraid to go aluminium. The V8 is an alloy block. A custom built radiator will be better than the Chinese rubbish GMH sell. Let us know how you go.

Nulon used to have a really good article on stray currents. How to measure them (analogue meter only). I can't find it to link now. They seem to have removed some really good fact sheets from there websiteIt even went into details of why these currents was dissolving the radiators/pumps/housings on one of the locally sold GMH cars.

That is a condensed version of itIt was pages long with instruction to check for stray current. Also it had piccies of local cars with corroded aluminium etc. Maybe the manufactures threatened them if they didn't remove pictures of corrosion damage to there cars
