    My point was.....think about a 'no alternator' situation....

    I like both electric and viscous....but it pays to think about how each can fail, and what that means to your vehicle/situation.

    Just came back from a week away camping at Lake Gairdner. Was pretty hot on the way there and back and I didnt have any overheating problems. Temp was up to high 30's and highest temp I saw was 93 going up some long hills. Last year I had to pull over on more than one occasion to let the Disco cool down up the same hills. Very happy with my new viscous clutch.

    Excellent....they do a lot of work when its hot....see my post re fan RPM
