Does anyone have a link to another online seller or a brick and mortar place who carries the Viton o-ring for the distributor head? I ordered one from the seller linked in the last post but they never sent the part after I ordered it, and then wouldn't respond to any emails etc when I tried to contact them. My scouring of eBay has turned up no one who can confirm the seal they carry for the Bosch ve pumps is a Viton type.

I ordered the parts from this seller after seeing this post and received them after a week or two without any problems.

And it seems most people had such an experience, but unfortunately for whatever reason my luck was not as such.

A week after the latest date at which my part was supposed to have arrived by I still hadn't received it, so I tried contacting the seller and no response. Then two weeks passed and same story, again with no response to any of the messages I sent. Now it's well past three weeks since the part was supposed to arrive by and after still not receiving it, opening a claim with eBay sending one last message pleading the seller to send the part or update me on where it was in transit, getting reimbursed by eBay since the claim went unanswered by the seller, and I've yet to ever hear anything from the seller (apart from the one reply they sent me confirming the part fit my car, which I asked before purchase).

So even though yourself and most everyone has had no problems and received their part without any drama, I have no plans to try ordering it again through this seller. Would you not call me a fool if I did and experienced the same fate as before? Afterall the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting a different result.

And by no means am I trying to say that that seller is bad or should be avoided. As I've said most everyone seems to have had good luck with them, so I won't deter people from using them.

I just won't be anymore due to my unfortunate experience (unless the seller contacts me back before I find another supplier and promises to do right by me this time).

Update for anyone following this. I was able to call up Bosch who then referred me to Diesel Distributors ,one of their distributors in Melbourne (though I'm they have many others that may be closer to you if you're not in that neck of the woods).

Diesel Distributors after listening to me and what I needed then looked up the pump kit numbers and told me they could get the distributor head seal/o-ring (which they confirmed are in fact Viton) separate. So for the princely sum of $3.30 I've got one heading my way in the mail.

No need to go to eBay, just call up your resident Bosch distributor and get it or the full kit for a little next to nothing. I should've done this to start with.

Now to replace it without screwing something up.

The genuine bosch head seal I put a year ago was buna not Viton. This was part of a kit that I bought a few years ago for the top seal but has been very useful for other bits also.
