On the subject of what new cars have a VC fan, my parent's 2014 200 series cruiser has one

I change regular viscous coupling on full electric fan with automatic or manual ON/OFF.

I dont like the look of your fan shroud, it will severely limit the airflow to 2 small round areas the diameter of the fans.

Maybe you could fit a hiclone to the fan?[/QUOTE]

Now there is an idea - Must be a use for those bloody things.
I get hammered daily with their advertising in sat TV so maybe they do work.

    air con removal

On my 3.5 V8i I am thinking of removing the air con from the firewall forward.
I use the vehicle as an outback tourer in the cooler months and as a backup for when my P38 daily is off the road.
Future plans for trips are around Oodnadatta, Giles, woomera and a bit of a poke about Lenny's tracks.

With the air con removed would it be okay without the fans in front of the condenser or should I keep them with that wiring circuit in place with the rest of the air con in the engine bay removed ?

Why remove the air con ?, well it hasn't worked for quite a while and I don't
miss it and would rather have the extra space clear in the engine bay.

    Thanks.

Turn your compressor into an endless air/ air compressor far far better than a electric one
