    Central locking/ key fob

Hi all. I hope this finds everyone well. I have a query about original keys/ equipment and a problem with the central locking system on my 99 300 TDI Disco

    Query:
The Landy has been in our family about 10 years. All I was ever given was one standard metal key. No one can remember any other equipment. The owners' handbook refers to a remote locking fob that comes with the key. It is pictured with 2 buttons, presumably to lock and unlock doors. Would my Disco have come with remote locking in 99? If so, where can I get a key fob to operate the doors?

    Problem:
The central locking operation is limited. It only centrally locks from the drivers door. At least 25% of the time not all of the doors centrally lock. Mainly rear passenger and tail gate doors fail to lock sometimes and I have to go through the process again several times before the doors will lock.

Can anyone shed any light on any of the above?

    Cheers All.

Yes, it would have. You can either buy a fob and program it to work with your system, or you can buy an aftermarket system for <$20 with multiple fobs and connect it into your system by tapping into wires under the kick panel.

Problem: your solenoids may be going. Alternatively, there might be a wiring issue with low voltage to the rear circuits.

Iircc the 'S' model like my previous 98 disco
Did not come with a fob.
The CL was operated via the key in the DS lock.
The sticky lock mechanisms can be sortedout
By removing the door facias and lubing the moving, sliding parts.
At least that is how I have fixed mine.

I just bought a genuine OME fob recently - took it to a different mechanic from my usual, who had the computer to sync the new fob up. It shouldn't cost any more than a couple of hundred

I have a 96 disco that only came with the one key - no fob. I bought some disco parts that included two fobs. I programmed them myself using the hawkeye diagnostic tool. I am unsure if other diagnostic tools such as nanocom can do this, but it it worth a look here; http://www.aulro.com/afvb/electronic...ostic-systems/ to see if there is anyone near you that can help.

    Cheers,
    Tom
