Well, it's probably a bit hard to compare, but's not far from me so it's more a convenient thing. I did ask him about a rebuild price last time I was there and it was a similar price to yours (maybe a bit higher) but I don't know what that included....

Hi Brett, Most rebuilders will not do a specific repair (only rebuild) for the very good reason that failure of one part means failure of other parts is pending and they don't want endless warranty claims. The valve block getting gummed up means it is probably shedding clutch material, and at those kms, your torque converter will have worn splines.

My spare is condition completely unknown. I bought it for the valve block, but haven't had time to pull it apart.
