I looked at this when I did mine but was warned off them particularly Malpassi as back then they were very unreliable, so much so that Graeme Cooper discontinued selling them.

The main limitation with V8s is that the advance curve is crap, and I could keep with a 4.6 easily with my 3.9 with Unichip as the torque down low was 50% up from stock, proven on several dyno runs.

The MAF adjustment screw affects idle mixture as well as above idle so goes some way to fine tuning. Anyway, you're right about the injectors being big enough, my suggestion was simply to not waste money when a simpler solution could do a little good.

Hi all, I have another question I could do with some advice on, the Conrod bearing have come out and there's unusual wear on the sides but not in the valley of the bearing, the crank is correct and the wear would suggest incorrect size bearings, am I correct in my thoughts?

Yes pics would be good - and why have you taken the cap of a conrod bearing? Do you have other issues or just checking things. Have you pulled any others and are they the same?

The 14CUX should be able cope with the bigger capacity ok though it may run out of puff at higher revs. I fitted Ford Mustang yellow top injectors and got a Scorcher dissy recurved to suit the bigger motor. Rising rate fuel regulators may not work completely well and may from some reports cause problems lower down in the rev range, although an adjustable regulator may be worthwhile. Mark Adams can supply a custom Tornado chip to suit your ECU and other engine specs if you need to get the utmost out of this conversion (so too can Bruce Davis but I'm not sure how good these are?).

Our 14CUX 4.6ltr has a John Davis modified label on it .

I have no comparison though .

If your thinking is it will need more a fuel a rising rate fuel pressure regulator may be worth some investigation .

The higher pressure would allow more fuel but it will still need to be capable of the 0.5 at idle if it is to idle properly .
