Does anyone know if Maxi drive axles will fit a 1993 d1

Hi Guys here's one for the maxi drive and Range rover guru's out bought a set of original Maxi drive axles to suit a 1990 Range Rover classic, part no's stamped on ends are s1 and sl, my question is will these be suitable for a 1993 Disco 1 with 24 spline axles as standard.

Barry from Hy tough in QLD thinks they maybe too long on the long side to fit with just some new flanges, I'm hoping not, but, anyone got any idea?

    Cheers mufflerman

If you have the M/D axles and said disco drop the axles out of the disco and size them up against each other

Err, if the long side is too long, wouldn't the short side be as well? Isn't the track measurement the same?

I have a D1 with maxi axles, and a RRC. I can't just pull them to compare, as the D1 also has a locker, which makes pulling the axle a pain, but I'll happily run a tape over the outside if that helps.

Thanks, I'm never sure. However, I thought the OP was saying the axles he has are 24.

I read it as his disco has 24 spline axles.

If memory serves, you'll have to get the stub axles and cv's from the RRC to be able to fit it, which is NOT a good idea. Ask me how I know

The ones on my D1 weren't... The MD axles chewed them to bits...
