    ABS

ABS allows you to brake, without locking the steer wheels, allowing you to steer around an accident.
Any competent Driver Training Course, esp. track racing, will teach you how to steer while maximum braking is applied, It's the best thing since sliced bread and if an "Owner" disconnects it (ABS = Anti Skid Braking) and a fatality occurs I would imagine the person that disconnected it would be liable to at least Manslaughter charges.
DON'T **** WITH BRAKES, Regards Frank.
Here is the situation, you drive around a corner too fast, find that there is a set of traffic lights round the bend that you did not see and there is a vehicle in the left hand lane. You brake really hard ABS is activated and you steer safely into the right hand lane and stop beside the other vehicle.
Now same situation except there is a vehicle stopped in both lanes. Take your pick as to which one you are going to hit, you will hit one of them and no ABS will not help you as it cannot stop your vehicle any quicker. The mistake was already made in going around the bend that you could not see what was on the other side, too fast.
Allowing people to rely on the features fitted to their vehicle without fully explaining the consequences is where we have strayed from the path of being good drivers with average vehicles, to being average drivers with good vehicles. We still do not understand the basic concepts involved. In life most things begin with crawl, walk, run. Now we all want to run before we can crawl!

Brakes will still work whether abs light is on or not. Its designed that way. If ur brakes are not working when abs light is on u have a massive problem somewhere else.

Yes if it is fitted it should work
It get`s me how people will only buy their children cars with these safety aid`s they seem to have forgotten the cars they drove when they learnt to drive were lucky to have a radio let alone a heater
No im not against all this new fad safety add on`s
But plenty of us did die, did hit things, did have rear end collisions.. all greatly reduced with this tech under panic conditions.

We also back then had Encyclopaedias, huge monstrosities taking up vast cash and space only to become outdated at time of print.

We also had Land Line phones... with cords!!!!

    And dictionaries!

    We don’t need those now!

The brakes themselves do work it's jus the abs isn't working though I have noticed in the last few days when I'm alone on a straight stretch of road and test them I do at times feel the abs kicking in so guessing it's nothing major but will try the blink test this weekend if I get time
