Wouldn't this be dependant on how the D3 was stuck?

I would not buy any of them without a snatch block being part of the deal. But you do need to find out if the car has crush cans or not.

Is 9500lbs big enough for a winch or should I go 12000lbs?

Please note that the king of all off the shelf winches is 8000lb,

Gearing is the main difference in the low mount series, take a couple of pulley blocks and you’re sorted Is 9500lbs big enough for a winch or should I go 12000lbs?

Think before you buy a winch. Whilst pull load is important, many winches are not water proof, or do not have breathers to stop water ingress, and some clearly state that their warranties will not cover damage done by water! In some cases your recovery might be in water, so watch out. Some of the well known brands do not cover water damage

Ended up going with a TJM Torq 9500lb winch, because they've got some new silly colour coming out and there is a decent special on them throughout December which brings them down to the same price as other more reasonably priced winches like the Runva ones. Sounds like they have lots of the water proofing and good features. They put black rope on it though which is a bit stupid I think, yellow was much better but there was no special on the yellow rope ones. Should be a good one!

Is your Disco dual airbag or just Drivers side ?
