Just found this site land rover spring specifications / land rover spring specifications which indicates that:
* red/green is the rear passenger side spring for a Defender 110 HD - although these are listed at 15.5" yet the ones I have are only measuring 14.5" (perhaps old age sag?). Big difference in the spring rate - 330 lb/inch where the normal fronts are only 133!
* yellow/yellow is the front right spring for a Defender 110 or rear springs for a Disco 1 - they measure up correctly at about 14.5" length.
The site indicates that left and right are different with different colour markings.
According to it, correct for a Disco 1 V8 is:
Front right - blue
Front left - blue/white
Rear - white/white or yellow/yellow (or for 90-93 only red/pink).
EDIT: I cleaned around the two front springs and both, left and right, are blue - can't find a trace of white on either. Cannot find a trace of colour on either of the rears.
So perhaps correct springs for the rear and incorrect for the front then?
