    5AM MAF

    Quick question.

    1997 3.9 V8

    Should there be an o ring on the air box side of a Lucas 5AM MAF or not?
    Information I can find about this seems confusing.

    Yes it should have one. The factory item is mental expensive but nothing special. Any decent hydraulics or bearing supply place should be able to sell you something suitable for about a dollar. The o- ring seals axially, so just needs to be a snug fit in there. Get your verniers out

    Great, thanks for confirming. I replaced the MAF about five years ago with a genuine Lucas but recently noticed there is no o ring. I definitely remember there being one on the old unit. I must have installed the new one and forgot about the o ring. Could be unfiltered air I guess? Will measure it. Thanks.
