    Discovery 1 2" lift

Hi, I'm halfway through doing a 2" lift on my disco but my front coils look massive, does anyone know if I just need a spring compressor or have i been sold two rear sets?

No you dont need spring compressors but you will need a couple of jacks or at least some stands.
Basically you undo the bottom shocker nut, undo the 4 nuts on the shock tower and remove both shock and tower together.
Jack up the body up as high as you can and drop the diff as low as you can, and the spring will fall out.
Just keep an eye on your brake lines when you drop the diff.
The hardest part I found was undoing the bottom shock nut otherwise its a piece of cakeDiscovery 1 2" lift

Good timing, I've got exactly the same springs arriving next week.

What shocker size are you using

Was told last week to invest in 3" + shockers for a 2" lift, not exactly sure why and what implications it has for a lift. Then see smatterings of advice of adjustment to brake lines etc but dont the springs decide how far the wheel articulates?

Are you using 2" + shockers and how did you decided on the springs themselves?

Will eventually be fitting a bar and winch but do I purchase once for the extra weight or wait?? The rear air bags are so much simpler, just a 50mm spacer, or are there 2" taller airbags, mmmm will look this up.

The BEST way to sort out your suspension needs is to fit ALL the accessories first and then get the suspension that suits the truck, Fitting springs/shockies first is just guesswork.

The other bit I found when removing my springs(mainly the fronts) was that the axle wouldn't drop far enough top allow me to remove or refit the spring, so use the landrover jack between axle and chassis to assist it extending down a bit more.

As said, you don't need a spring compressor, just more downward travel of the axle.

And good point that Jim makes re the brake lines.. if you find that you need to jack the axle downwards so much that the brake lines pull to tight, then you know for sure that you now also need extended brake lines.
Don't go off roading too far into axle twisting territory before you change them.
