    V8 Disco hiccup

    Hi everyone, My 1998 V8 Discovery has started playing up,fuel related I think,every now and then it will be hard to start and you will be driving along and it will start to lose power and run rough then it will go alright for a while maybe an hour then do the same again, any body know what is causing this thank you in advance.

    Put any injector cleaner through it lately?
    Give it a go, worked for mine.

    Also check the fuel filter and pressure regulator. Can you hear the pump run for a couple of seconds every time you turn the ignition on?

    Probably a worn out fuel pump. Lift up the load space carpet and unscrew the hatch in the floor for access. The pump itself is easily replaced by a generic from your auto store, just take yours in for a sample. I used to use a VN Commodore kit but it had a different plug. And whatever you do, don't wreck the concertina fuel hose that connects the pump to the top cover. Standard EFI hose can't be used there as it isn't made to be submersible. Crush the old plastic fuel pump outlet with a hammer and a flat surface and remove it in fragments.
