It seems to have spark from all 8 plugs. I have a brand new spare coil to, I put that on incase my old one was throwing a weak spark but still no different.*
It's like its pre flooding itself before I even start it.. I took all the plugs out on a sunny day, let the cylinders dry out and cleaned the plugs then reinstalled them and started it with the throttle wide open (flooded method) and it fired up but ran like a dog. Mild feathering of the throttle for about 60 seconds got it running smooth and I could turn it off and start it again fine while still warmed up. Next day it was back to just cranking over with the occasional pop of a cylinder.... Can a dirty or clogged injector dribble fuel in the cylinder when I turn it off? Therefore pre flooding it? Or am I probably way off thinking that?
There is a wire that runs from the coil to the MAF harness which tells the 14CUX that the car has started .
Just check the connections of the wire and the condition of the resisitor/diode ( I cannot remember which) about half way along.
Also check the contacts on the MAF plug, shine them up, then twist them just a little with long nose pliers to improve the contact.

Yes it can. I think you need to get a fuel pressure gauge on it to see what the hell is going on. I know classic Range Rovers with the metal tank get rust where the return line goes and that puts the fuel pressure way up and causes all sorts of issues. Not sure what tank you have. Plus a leaking injector
can be found by cranking the engine and then blocking off the fuel supply and return lines. If pressure is dropping and you don't have a leak injector is dribbling
It will have a plastic tank.
Sounds like a fuel issue.
My brother has similar model,he had a heap of trouble with the electrical connecters around the coil and associated wiring.
His would start OK,but stop whenever it wanted to.
Once he repaired the wiring,all has been fine .
I have to ask the question.
Did you do any work on the car just before it started to play up?
Like fitting a new rotor button, replacing the plug leads, removing the dizzy? , changing the coil?
