    Injector not working

    Discovery 1 3.9 V8 1999

So after much testing, disconnecting leads one at a time, discovered cylinder no. 5 not working. removed spark plug and good fat spark.
Ran engine with plug lead disconnected, removed plug and it's dry as, I would have expected it to be wet.
Of course, it's no, 5. underneath plenum so almost impossible to get at.

My question is, I want to test if it's actually getting power, all injectors were cleaned and tested before hand. so thinking a faulty connector or wire fault.

If I can remove connector, how do I check the plug to see if there is any signal? Do I need engine running/cranking, or is there a voltage with just key on.

    Any advice appreciated,

    Ron.

Opening the brain vault. you can buy a noid light from the likes of repco et to test injector siginals. Alternatively there is a video on you tube how to make your own if you have the technical ability. Baz

    Just an update,
all electrical connectors working fine, Removed fuel rail with injectors attached from manifold, and cranked engine with paper towels under injectors.
Sure enough, no. 5 not spraying at all.
Two center ones on 'even' bank, dribbling and leaking down even without cranking.
    Conclusion:
Never trust completely when having injectors tested/refurbished, test your self using paper towel method.
Purchased new 4 hole Bosch ones from RPI in UK. Yes, a bit expensive, about one thousand dollars with DHL postage.
Still cheaper than any I found in Australia??
They work perfectly and it now it runs like a dream.

Well, it's a Land Rover, don't we love them, first test drive and the drivers seat base just collapsed, kinda feels like sitting on a toilet seat, ha.ha too funny.
Previously, after starting engine for first time after rebuild, the rear view mirror fell off, bounced off the dash and hit me in the head.
    I've renamed it, the 'anti-Christ'....

Well done for supplying an update. Many posts do not provide feed back once issue is sorted. Baz

I have actually met Lena Farugia from The Gods Must Be Crazy II and chatted to her for a few minutes while filming an ad for a company I worked for, she was lovely.
