Sure, it's a D2, but....
Short of a Rover 3.9 V8 conversion, I'd also look at LS. The LS range has to be the best supported motor in the world for upgrades and conversions, and there is good reason for that.
LS auto to LT230.
Also check out some of the modern diesels, many of them fly as well, but will use a lot less fuel.
Cheers

SupporterTop hatted 4.6 from Turners comes with high torque cam and gas flowed heads and will bolt right in. Fit the 3.9 Hotwire fuel injection/engine management system and your distributor (or replace it a much better Scorcher dissy). Lloydd Specialist Developments are in the process of finalising a new fully programmable plug and play direct replacement ECU for the Lucas 14CUX (they already have one available for the earlier 4CU).

If she craps herself ill go down the 4.4 p76 road if I can find one.
My dad put one in his 2 door RR and it went like stink, but that was 30 years ago.
He's not around these days so I'll start a new thread on that

How big's the budget?? A short block from Turner's is $7K plus shipping and duties.

G`day , rather than an engine possibly a cam shaft would be helpful , 3.5 in good nick is not that bad .
If a larger capacity is required , i would take the time to research what the American D1 96 -98 has .
It is call a 4.0 but is same capacity as 3.9 it is not the cross bolt motor that we know as a 4.0 .
It does not used a distributor but uses the GEMS system like the P38a 4.0 and 4.6 that we got here .
It is capable of tuning both ignition and fuel .
The other thing to do if in no hurry would be to learn the engine number prefixes and spend some time at picka part type wreckers .
I have a project in my brain to do a Barra engine (the Ford straight 6) into a D2
Regards
Daz

						This bit.
Do you want a mint 3 door, or a bitsa.
No wrong answer. A D1 with a LS or a Barra or a top hatted 4.6 or an M57, or an N56 for that matter, would great, but it won't be a mint 3 door.
