Hi all, Vihtavouri here this thread is all about my discovery's restoration progress through out the years.
To start the thread, 3-door Discoveries was never sold by the dealership here in our country which made 3 doors a rare find here as there are only 2 known units here. I bought the Japan Import unit that never ran from a friend in a very bad state, rust was literally everywhere, seats missing, broken glass, missing engine, lost harness. but your boy was silly enough to see a potential in the vehicle. fast forward to disassembling it, the only salvageable parts was all the aluminum parts such as fenders, bonnet, doors, roof and quarter panels, good thing we have a 5 door discovery that requires body repair anytime soon. what we did was disassemble the body of the 5 door, did some repairs and fitted the 3-door quarter panels to make it a 3-door. Motor is a 4.2L Rover V8 Modified to utilize twin 175CD-2 carburettors mated to a LT77 transmission. Fast forward to now, it was already painted and fitted with sound deadening, now I am deciding on the wiring harness, because I want to utilize the look of the 1994 Jay disco from the interior to exterior knowing ill face issues I would like to know if someone here did conversion to have a 1998 D1 look like a 1993 D1, if so, what issues did you face by doing the conversion.

Thanks

What differences were there? Grill? Just a simple plastic parts swap. Tail lights? Maybe a different bumper. Which lights worked when and independently or in conjunction with what, changed every second day throughout the years of D1 production.
The passenger side of the dash varied on later models, depending on the optional airbag fitment. This may not apply to earlier models.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
