Have you any old credit card sized cards of some type. Have to be very strudy, and not quite as thick as a credit card.
I use old ID card, or whatever I can find that isnt' quite as thick as a credit card.
(Vic) driving license is still a bit too thick.
They can work, but also make it harder too.
I'll post some pics, but my method is to insert the card at the top edge, start in the centre and and then jimmy the card in so it's long edge is now sitting in the top gap of the coin tray.
It will have a lot of resistance, and you will feel it push itself against the retaining tabs.
Then use a second card, but only on one corner of the bottom gap edge. Again it will be very tight as the gap between dash slot and coin tray is not much reduced as you already have a card in the top.
But if you try to get both tabs released at the bottom edge, you're fighting a losing battle.
Then I use friction with fingers on the inside of the coin tray, but NOT the bottom return edge(the small wall), as this will delaminate and break off and you have worse issues.
But with a bit of grip on the inside felt, and using the cards to help it pop out, it kind'a snaps out at the three tabs.
Then slide the bottom card across to release the last lower tab and easy peasy from there.
Like I said, I'll post pics ASAP for ya.
