The second battery in my D1 (OK, now it's my daughter's) is in the LHS battery position, just in front of the air cleaner - same as my old '86 RR classic.

Jack is moved between the windscreen washer bottle and the airbox.
Mines the same, the only other thing that needs doing is to move the power steering fliud reserviour.
I dont have ABS so thats where mine is.
I will take a photo later and post it if no one else does.
No ABS on my daughter's

From memory from my D1, the jack went with the bracket to a position near the brake booster on the drivers side inner guard. It looked original postion for a while until I saw the power steering reserviour extended by a flat steel bar and the ignition coil shifted slightly. The airbox did not have it's trumpet cone on and there was a perfect logical place for a battery between the radiator support panel and the airbox.
I assumed that the previous owner had a dual battery setup as all the right gear had been moved but not replaced to its original position. The actual dual battery wiring and whatever switch gear they used was non existent. There was no trace of it.
Anyway, to install it all into a D1 is dead set easy compared to a D2.
