    Should l sell ????

    Hi Guys,

My bro and l are in the process of finishing some rear draws for his GQ, after which were onto some for my disco!,
l want to utilize the space where the dicky seats go and was wondering, does anyone know what these things would sell for if l sold them (Ls rear dicky seats, leather! ) or do you think i should wrap them up and hold on to them just in case?

    Any thoughts

    cheers

One point worth thinking about is that I have an idea it was Queensland that was quoted as being one state where removal of a seat from a vehicle requires engineering approval. I would check into this before carrying out your plan. In any case, retaining the seats for would seem to be a good idea, as the next buyer may well want them.

JD, I posted my experience with Qld. Transport over removing the sideways seats in the rear of the County. Basically, the compliance plate says x no. of seats and any change to compliance means a modification plate has to obtained from an authorised person. Conversely, if you do this and wish to re-install the seats, then the process has to be gone through again, with the difference that the ADR's applicable at the time of the second change will have to be met. The public servant involved did reveal that it is permissible to temporarily remove the seats. I informed him that I would "temporarily" remove the seats, and he thought that was a good idea and would save a lot of bother to both parties.

temporary removal of seats in a landrover is not a problem. If you look at the back row of seats in a td5 110 deefer they have a bracket on the floor that the seat hinges on when folding forwards. The bolt that they pivot on has a nut on it which only serves to hold the bolt in place.

To remove the seat if you remove the hinge bolt as it doesnt have a specific torque setting for the nut you're OK, If you remove the part of the hings that bolts up to the body work then you can get in trouble.

Same rulings apply to the rear seats of a disco/rangie/anything else with seats in a "loadspace" area of the vehicle.

If you need me to I'll get a pic of the hinge setup on the deefer so you can see exactly what I mean.

Yes with a purely a temporary sound system upgrade in mind I set about temporarily removing a cargo seat to fit this temporary sub woofer.....cargo seat cleaned and in temporary packing at back of shed if someone else wants this D1 with no temporary bits (when I think Range Rover Sports with some temporary bits could be nice)
