I had 245/75/16 Cooper STT's fitted to my series 1 Disco this week. I had 235/70/16 Scorpions on there before and the size difference is noticable.
The 245's really fill the guard more and have increased my overall ride height by about 20mm. It also dropped my rpm at 100klm/hr by about 150rpm.
Mine is the V8 auto and it hasnt made any noticable difference in acceleration or ride.

Nice Disco. I have the same colour.
I eventually decided on the 245 70 16s. Looks alot nicer than the 235's and I dont have to cut anything to make them fit.
Thanks for the advice everyone.
Shorty, nice truck!
Would advise you to trim the rear before it gets messed up - unless you never get the thing flexed ip.
Don't ask me how I know...![]()
thanks Macman, JC gave me the tip as well. I will have to do that before saturday when I get up the scrub.
A dremel with fine cut off discs will do a super job. I marked my cuts with electrical tape and had to take a little more than I would have liked since I had decided to chance it. Had no problem until Shay and I did a training course at Werribee and got the axles crossed up to the stops.

Hi im a newbie and think this site is awesome, have recsently bought a 96 Disco V8i stock and I just did the same thing, after reading heaps on this website i decided to go the 245/75/16 Mickey Thompson on my 96 disco ( is that a series 1?
) they seem to look good and fill the wheel arches nicely, at this stage i dont seem to even need to do any trimming but havent been off road yet. Even with the stock suspension!
But at full lock to the left the tyre is rubbing on the radius arm. Should i be concerned? it is only a slight rub![]()
Exhaust is getting done on monday, from end of manifold 2.5" with resonator, she should sound even nicer than they do now. Window tint too.
Also had to bolt down my battery and when ive disconected it ive lost my radio, need the damn security code, well i ant got itVery tempted to just rip it out and whack a cd player anyway, does anyone know what to do here?
Righto off to hit a little white ball around............
Thanx i advance for your help and i will post some pics soon!
NJZ has done his exhaust, sounds fantastic so I reckon you'll love the change. He often gets enquiries about how he has worked the engine; gives him great pleasure to reply, nup, just the exhaust!Check here if you wish Exhaust Shop ?
I persisted with my OE CD Player for 8 or so months but decided to ditch it and swap in an old Pioneer head unit I had from a few years ago. Best thing I've done, even the OE speakers sound better. Of course it sounds even better with the 12" sub and amp in the back
Regards,
Peter
