    Running Rich

My 3.9 has been running rich and had a bit of a miss in it.So this morning when i was serviceing it i decided to read up on the site to see if i could work it out and save some $.So after a search on here i disconnected the air flow meter and it made no real difference(I thought it should)so got another afm off a parts car and no diff.I started to look further and found a broken wire back in the sheath. So connected it up and bingo not so rich and idle smooth Yaaaaaaaay.Just thought this may help some others or at least inspire them to try themselves before giving it to a mechanic.I think i saved myself the price of a new afm and the labour to find the fault.Very happy with myself.

Mine dies when I disconnect the MAF also. I thought this was normal.
It ran very rich when it got dirty though. Even went into limp home mode.

It was the brown wire about 4" back into the covering. It had been spliced into just above there in the past so may have contributed. If you disconnect the plug and it makes no difference you have a problem
