Thanks mate , If you could get a price that would be great. at that price i'm guessing the whole grill is steel ? On another forum i was looking on ( not pommie
) a couple of blokes has a plastic grill with the steel mesh .
Would you rather know about a bloke getting around the GC with a chrysler 300C grill on his

I have also heard about cutting up the original grill and just sticking the mesh to the back side of the plastic .
My idea of it is to let more air through more so for the intercooler and for looks.
Is that for the early Disco or the Update?
The Saudi Spec Grill was introduced as part of the GULF campaigne in 1998. Patrick Fay was the man in charge of in-market testing in the GULF and they introduced the kit prior to the launch of the Series II Discos.
Mine was one of the test cars prior to the recall of Gulf Spec Disco's in Saudi.
It was an option that Disco I owners could have retrofitted at the dealers free of charge.
It's not the just the steel mesh grill that was changed though.
A bigger radiator, larger output alternator (120acr) bigger fan, longer serpentine belt and lots of other plastic shrouds were included in the kit....it's not just the grill although many people fit it because they simply prefer the design.
The purpose of the grill was to allow direct airflow right into the radiator and A/C condensor. It maximised the cooling of the engine and also increased performance of the A/C.
I'm told that the bigger fan stole a few HP but I've never noticed the difference.
These grills are quite rare now but just a few months ago someone un-earthed a job lot and put them on E-Bay in the UK for 65 pounds each. I bought two because mine is beginning to crack. They all come in black and need painting. Britpart in the UK can provide them direct but I don't know their number.
