    webasto heaters

    Hi guys,
Was wondering if there's anyone thats fitted the webasto heaters to there vehicle.
Am thinking of getting one....am leaving work between 0100-0300 hrs and would like to get into a warmed up vehicle, instead of freezing my knackers off for the 1st 20 mins of my 30 min drive home.
Is there a website that deals in 2nd hand ones as well(besides evilpay)

After having a look around and I am sure you already found this info but for others who are looking here the cost is 2000-2500 installed. They look quite good. But, your in Sydney, is it really that cold?

If I lived in the snowies or the like it would be a definite purchase. They are very efficent.

I was talking to a Canadian feller recently and he said a lot of people keep their vehicle running 24/7 in the coldest months. Imagine doing that just idling your vehicle over night.. I wonder if a webasto heater would be good enough in super cold areas.

In my earthmoving equipment days, my employers used to market a range of small loaders made in Minnesota. All had a 110v. block heater as standard equipment. This item replaced a core plug in the cylinder block and could be plugged in to a domestic power point when the vehicle was parked. A 240v. one should be available, or use a transformer to supply a 110v. one. I believe the heaters are readily available in cold countries. I bet they cost heaps less than $2500.

    To Matbor,
Was going to have a look on uk,ebay tonight.Thought of it when I was at work this arvo.

    To Xavie,
Yes I do live in Sydney--I even used to go down to Cronulla(lived in Kiora rd,Miranda) and surf year around in just my boardies. But now that I'm in my mid fifties,I unfortunately feel the cold greatly, hence the question...

    To Brian,
Thanks for the info re the loaders and the heaters that were fitted to them.
Will google and get some more info.

    Cheers
