Thread: Buying a Disco

Guy's please be kind I know I don't belong in here but......

The wife has put the pressure to get a bigger car to host our rapidly expanding family, I kinda ignored her a bit untill I realised I could get her a disco!

I won't be seriously looking at buying untill the end of the year, and being in the territory I'm looking at flying down for chrissy with the family and picking one up in the Sydney area (the old's live in Mudgee so anywhere along the way would be cool) and driving it back to Darwin.

I'm looking at the 98 300TDi with a 5 speed. The miss's has only stated that it be 4dr, the interior not be brown, in good nick, aircon, cd, and the rest of the mod con's that they already come with anyway.

If anyone actually has one of these that they are interested in selling or know of decent car yards in sydney that I should visit that would be an imense help. I am a mechanic and have worked on LR's for over 10 years so any that I look at will get the comb over.

I do have a budget, which is around the 10k mark, but how much I end up spending will be dependent on how confident I feel with it making the trip home.

G'day from Gove - but sorry I won't be much use to you as I bought a Td5 back in March so am not up on the D1's.

Having said that most popular interior of the Discos I've seen is grey so you should be in luck there.
