Agreed Tim, great fun and they drive well. I'm old enough to think power steering and mirrors make it a great "modern" car. Add the fact that there's plenty of room and I can work on her and know my way around most of the engine bay and I'm like a pig in - well you get the message.

I have been lucky enough to have several new cars over the last 20 years including a couple of Landcruisers, a Jeep Cherokee and 3 & 5 series BMW's but nothing comes close to the pleasure I get out of driving and working on my old Disco.

As I said swmbo thinks I am losing my marbles but you like what you like and the only thing I'd swap her for now would be a Defender. If they made an auto (runs for cover from the "real" 4wd'ers) I'd buy one tomorrow. swmbo would then be able to drive her and that would seal the deal. If I have learnt anything in 33 years of marriage it's that it's very important to keep swmbo sweet.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that both the LR's and me were born in Solihull !

    Regards

    Martin
