Whats a reasonable price for a TDI D1

    Hello All,

I'd like to ask for your thoughts on a Metalic Red Discovery I have to sell.

Its a late 98 model - last of the D1's.
TDi with 161,000 k's on it.
It's had the cambelt done last service, and that included a New Radiator and hoses.
    Water Pump.
    Rubber Donut
    New Dual batteries
    Fridge point in the rear
500'ks on a set of 5 new BFG tyres

It's been on a novated lease so was maintained by the dealer, I tried to get them to fix things properly, as I wanted to keep the vehicle for a long time. The vehicle is mechanically very good. Cosmetically it is excellent, apart from a bent rear bumper plastic cap, and a small amount of rust in the Alpine Window. There is no rust in the rear floor, and I was planning to get the alpine rust fixed in next few months.

Interior is a little grubby - but nothing a detailer won't fix.

Obviously I'd like to get as much as I can for it! but what sort of Price would you think is reasonable?

I would have thought around the $10k mark, but my price expectation may be off as they are more expensive down here

Think of a figure and then halve it. It is a Land Rover after all.
I'm thinking high thousands. Maybe $8-9K.

So long as it is rust free. At the very least no alpine window rust (once you fix it). When I looked for mine I walked away from anything with alpine window rust. That might just be me though.

When I bought mine a couple of months back there weren't many Tdi's under about 200K, so I'd consider yours low mileage.

With full history etc and new set of rubber I think you'd be looking 9-10K.
FWIW - mine is a 97 model, and the insurance company has a 7K market value on it.

detailed you should have no trouble getting 10k from what i have seen, in qld other markets may be different.

vic and nsw tend to be a bit cheaper thats why many qlders head down south to pick them up.

A local lady just paid 9500 for one of the cleanest late 300tdis i have ever seen. White, 5 ROH mags with new BFGs, ARB bar, warn winch, rack, snorkel, cargo barrier.... basically the lot, with 180k. I thought it was a good price, but it did have 5k+ of extras.
