Are you savvy re Qld safety certificates?

If so, then I have a question I hope you can answer.

Will a whine in the manual gearbox of my 94 Disco get it knocked back for the safety certificate?

    Matt.

depends on how bad it is and where you go...

Id say not, if they comment on it just tell them thats what you get for having a constant mesh square gut low range gear set.

How will they know it whines?

I bet they wont even take it for a run.......unless it does it at idle, but then theres still not much chance they would pick it up

    Good luck

Depends on if the whine has a seatbelt.

Or, if the wine is uncorked.

    Roadworthy examiner

Hey i'm a Qld inspector & landrover owner
The gearbox noise you speak of is of no concern to a Safety Certificate. Only if the gearbox failed to change correctly or if any oil leaks where present on inspection. The noise would have to be very loud for it to warrant a defect. Also it is a requirement of the inspection to drive the vehicle to test all controls & brakes etc.
    Happy to help
