You'll only get the best deal if you're prepared to stick to your guns and walk away from a few.
stick to your original offer, even as mentioned before, warranty and a tank of juice.![]()

I've been lurking on thos forum for a few months now, getting a feel for what to look out for etc.
Finally I've take delivery of a 'new' vehicle, and my first Landrover.
Given the perennial choice between a TD5 with high k's and a good TDi with as low k's as I could get, I always wanted the latter.
I finally came across a '98 TDi one owner (repossesed by the finance company) with good service history, and 136 k's on it. It's the basic model with a few extras such as bullbar, tint, cd changer, etc, and it drives kinda like new.
I picked it up for 10k, on the condition that they upgraded the intercooler, and with 3 months reg, and of course 3 months warranty. I know I paid a premium, but when the right car comes along it's worth it I reckon.

not bad for a td5 i reckon
Look on car sales there was a bronze coloured auto tdi really low k's for around 6-7k in Mayfield which is pretty close to you.
