You'll only get the best deal if you're prepared to stick to your guns and walk away from a few.
stick to your original offer, even as mentioned before, warranty and a tank of juice.

I've been lurking on thos forum for a few months now, getting a feel for what to look out for etc.

Finally I've take delivery of a 'new' vehicle, and my first Landrover.
Given the perennial choice between a TD5 with high k's and a good TDi with as low k's as I could get, I always wanted the latter.

I finally came across a '98 TDi one owner (repossesed by the finance company) with good service history, and 136 k's on it. It's the basic model with a few extras such as bullbar, tint, cd changer, etc, and it drives kinda like new.

I picked it up for 10k, on the condition that they upgraded the intercooler, and with 3 months reg, and of course 3 months warranty. I know I paid a premium, but when the right car comes along it's worth it I reckon.

went and had a look the sarvo seems pretty good just want peoples thoughts on a few things, rust starting round one alpine window(i can fix that), the dash is lifting where it meets the window how much is a new dash peice, hood lining needs to be put back up, there is oil on the passenger side of the engine at the top what would be causing this is it hard to fix ect ect, the accelerator needs to be pushed a long way in before it will start to take of(auto), any thoughts, gearbox seems alright but does change slightly rough, its all picky stuff but all stuff that will cost me money so what are your thoughts on

    rust
    dash
    hood lining
    oil
    accelerator
    gearbox

if eeryone thinks its a winner ill offer him 6 tomoz it has nice low ks and is a good base for a family tourer
