No worries, You'll be right
Nothing a bit of cash and a couple of spanners can't fix ! ! !
Enjoy, you'll get plenty of help (searching) around here.

Oh, and welcome
First post, so go easy
The Mrs and I have (probably stupidly) wanted a V8 manual *something* for a while now...Not necessarily for 4WD'ing, but just because I like V8s, we both like manuals, and she likes the elevated driving position.
We already have a Suzuki Grand Vitara (which is an OK thing), and I (again stupidly) bid on a '95 V8 manual ES a couple of days ago. Lo and behold, we won the damn thing, so I'll be going to Sydney to pick it up on Friday.
It's at the lower end of the Redbook stated values (although how current they are in the current market... *shrugs*
It looks in OK nick (from what I can tell), and doesn't seem to have been set up for off-roading. With 212,000kms on the clock, what do you people reckon I've gotten myself into?

First rule for this site is ...... It doesn't happen without pics. And as just been said you should be pretty right with it . May need a couple minor things doing to it but you should be pretty happy . And welcome to the forum

Welcome to the forum! any chance of some pictures?
I wouldn't be worried too much, just keep a tool kit in the car and most dramas will be sorted(not saying there will be any) my Rangy has 315,000 on the clock without any dramas!
Its now been over tacken by the Discovery tdi with 320,000

Where are you, put i on gas and it will be relatively cheap to run.
Get full check up, radiator, hoses, batteries, all fluids and electrics.
This car could do 500k no prob.
Enjoy the journey not just the destination.
looks like the one advertised in pickles![]()
G'day Mate,
Nice looking ES!
I bought a 98 Series 1 v8 a couple of years a go. Spent a few bucks in the first year.
- Springs
- Tyres
- Front ABS Sensors
- Major service
- Brake Pads
- Other minor bits and pieces
Did none of it myself and ended up costing me a few grand but has been "sweet" ever since.
Once you get it sorted you'll be happy. ('Til unleaded goes back to $1.60 a litre!!)
Be patient it's a Land Rover so you'll always have something annoying you
LPG is worthwhile if you do lots of KMs.
My vote is for!
