    Bullbar Fitment

    Hi Guys,

I have a TJM steel bullbar that came off my Defender. Will it fit a Seriers 1 Disco? The chassis mounts seem to match up wodth wise etc? What am l missing/not seeing here? I was fairly sure they wouldn't...

I understand that the bar was off a Rangie in the first instance.

It will fit with some small mods.
If it has originally come from a Classic RR to a Def & now to a D1 all will be good as i have just helped a mate do the same(no def tho)
    Cheers
Does the D1 have airbags, if it has then u will need the crush cans(if TJM bars have them) to be legal.

If it was originally off a rangie it would have looked a bit pox on the defender, the defender mounts are different, as they bolt top-bottom as oppossed to side-side, also if it was of a rangie, it wont fit the disco well at all, as it, doesn;t wrap around the sides well and sits to far back into the grill area and needs some cutting

Although Disco bars bolt on rangies fine

Technically, I'm not a fan of this either as they stick our further

But a disco bar on a rangie fits far better than a rangie bar on a disco

The differences in bar design between a rangie and disco is due to the shape of the leading edge of the bonnet. A disco is more curved than a rangie. Therefore if you fit a rangie bar to a disco it will fit closer to the bonnet in some area's/

I have a rangie bar on my disco and think it fits very well indeed. Although the bar has been modded to fit closer to the bonnet for better approach anyway.

Rangie bars don't usually fit this close on disco's
