    flex pics...

    Hi all
Here ar some pics of my disco on the bank!!
Do you think i should be happy with this flex in the front end??
    (4'' shocks and 3" springs)
Not shore how much i should get, just seeing if i should play with shorter shock towers or not

I'm happy with the amount in the rear, just enough

Thee are a couple of photos of mine with an old 2" lift and STD schocks, I am just placing in Dobinson suspension upgrade and sorting it out, Flex photos on it to come when I can. Your front and rear travel down apears to be a lot better then my STD that is the schocks I am running in these photos.
    Side shot.

    rear drop.

    Front Up.

Really what you should be looking at is how far the "stuffed"side is from the bumpstop. While it may not need to be on the bumpstop it should be within say10MM. sometimes if on teh bumpstop it may be too soft dynamically. If further away then the springs are too stiff to give good articulation, or the sway bar is preventing full articulation.
And it depends what you want to do, are you low speed rock crawling or high speed yumping? different springs are needed in each case.
So the photo doesn't tell much. Its for you to get down and dirty and have a look.

why would you want to shorten your shock towers if you lengthened your shocks??

wouldnt you want to lengthen your towers to make use of upward travell??

you will never get flex in the front as well as you do in the rear, its just the way it is. unless you want to seriously mod it

    cheers phil

    Thanks Philip
The bumpstops are still along way away on full compresion so i'm looking at extended bumpstops (no swaybars) i'm not planing on any flying over dunes, more camping and playing in the hills behind coffs harbour fairly regually
I might get some pics of the bumpstops tomorrow

Not shore now you've put it in that prospective just keeping my options open (suspension mucks with my brain)!!
And i'm aware about front flex not being anywhere near as good as rear without mager mods
    Thanks for the pics!!!

extending your bumptsops wont make it flex more it will stop it, what you need to look at is why its not reaching bumpstop????, are your shocks stopping this, are swaybars stopping it, are the springs to stiff, downtravel is of more value than uptravel, you could look at taller shock towers than a long travel shock
