Thread: Bilstein shockies

I have Bilsteins on a D1, and mine only have a light blue dust cover type of thing over the piston.

I can't see the front ones as they are covered by the shocky towers at the top.

The rear ones have the soft cover. It isn't attached by anything at the top, and held in place at the bottom by a cable tie.

They have never moved, but don't offer any rock type of protection, they just keep the dust out.

After a while the covers have also begun to sag and now they sort of droop in the middle and touch the piston (rear ones that is).

I run bilsteins on the D2 and dont have covers...

Exposed chrome rods everywhere!!!

No issues so far, and mine lives on dirt and gravel

I've been running the concertina boots on the rears for ages and they've done a lot of km's on fast dirt without a worry. I do double up the shields on the shock body though as thats where the damage occurs.

7100's mount the other way up

Thanks for the reply's think I just need to cable tie the bottom.Like the extra shield on the bottom will copy that for sure.
