    What spark plugs and leads?

Im going to replace mine, after a few more tanks of fuel to work out fuel economy before and after, but Id like to know if there are particular brands of plugs and leads to go for and to avoid.

    Its to go in a 93 3.9l

    Thanks!

    Search is your friend.
The last posting recommended NGK and Magnacore and I agree.
I have had magnacores for 9 years with no problems.

Yeah, I did a search, and there was only one thread that really covered which type. It was NGK and the Magnecor leads, but are they the only type people here like, or dont mess with fuel economy?

Magnecore and Gasmaster are the two brands of leads that get mentioned here a lot. I got the Gasmaster as they were significantly cheaper. No backfires on my LPG system yet in 12 months.

No idea on plugs. I just use the stock NGK I think. That is what Autobarn sold last I changed them.

NGK BP5ES plugs, Bosch spiral core leads 8mm is what I use. Avoid fancy plugs and over priced leads, theyre not really needed on a low comp 3.9. Just make sure the rest of the ignition system is in good order.

Yeah i would recomend checking the vaccuum advance on the distributor aswell, this can make a significant difference to fuel economy.

BUY QLD IGNITION LEADS THERE SPIRAL WOUND AND LOW PRICED FOR AUSTRALIAN MADE LEADS. AND USE IRIDIUM PLUGS IF YOU CAN AFORD THEM OTHERWISE USE CHAMPION GOLD STANDARD PLUGS AS THEY HAVE BEEN TESTED AND PROOVEN TO GIVE THE BEST SPARK IN STANDARD PLUGS IN STREETMACHINE MAG A FEW YEARS AGO. MAKE SURE YOU DIZZY DOESNT HAVE WORN TOP BUSHES OR YOU WILL STILL HAVE TUNE PROBLEMS , THERE BAD FOR IT , MOST NEED REPLACING AT 150000

I wouldn't use Champion plugs in anything... unless I was on the middle of nowhere and they were all I could get to keep a vehicle running and I had no choice.

For the Disco I recommend NGK BP5ES plugs, Bosch (black) leads - all available from Supercheap for less than a ton. Don't bother with fancy plugs. Magnecores are good but too pricey.

On my 4.6 streeter I run the same plugs with 9mm Eagle (blue) leads (better than Top Gun).
