new year of 07/08 i was in the condamine gorge region and had to negotiate 14 river crossings after 3 days of terrential rain. 2" lift with snorkel. had the water to bottom of windscreen of few crossings, put an old tarp over the grill for some of the deeper ones. water came into the doors, but not in the car. when i got to the other side, opened doors to let water drain out.

Make sure all the grommet's under the floor are in. I did a water crossing and got stuck. While cleaning the mess I found 3 out of the 4 Bungs weren't in properly. I then siliconed them in.
Well i went and did the crossing a few times was good fun!was a perfect hight water was just up the the top of the bonnet with the bow wave and up to the rubber strip on the side
Was a good crossing to start with as i knew the base was solid and flat and i had checked everything before i crossed and asked you guys what to look out for the water is also clean so no alternator problems
But like everything after doing it i decided i want deeperafter seeing some of you guys go through water up to the windscreen id love to do that but in a safe environment! ie: clean water solid base

It's actually better to look at the larger version in the gallery.
It wasn't obvious to me from the signature image that the bow wave comes up as high as the bonnet.
It all looks very calm and controlled.

She'll be rite just drive it. Our comp rangie, the one in my avatar died in waist deep mud. Turns out the water pump belt sprays water into the dizzy even after waterproofing it. We couldn't get it going again so we finished the stage on the starter motor. Wish I had pics, but I get a bit wet running round as a navi.
PS starter and alternator both still work, start the car twice a day. in and out of the workshop.
All is good the morning after only thing i had to do was drain the water out of my cheap spot/drive lights. And on a sunny day i will leave all the doors open to air it out a little.
Oh and i removed a lot of sticks and leaves etc from the grill.
James.
