    Which Snorkel?

I've been pricing snorkels for my series 1 disco, this is what i have found out:

    ARB safari 540 - 560
    TJM Airtec 460
    4wd systems 355 + delivery
    Airflow/4wd world/snorkel.com.au 380 delivered

My Question is are the airtec and safari worth the extra coin? Or am i better off going with the cheaper ones? What are peoples experinces?

    Thanks Andrew

I have the airtech and its well built design. Cant comment on others as this is my first snorkle but I have read from other threads that you dont go the cheap option unless really pressed for $$.

I too are wondering the same thing as I'm looking for a snorkel for my D1 as well. Be interesting to see what people think.

Are those prices fitted ARB & TJM?

I had an TJM style on my D1 and never had any worries with it, I did though fit it myself. Not nice drilling a big hole into your car.....

IMO, I find these look fine on 'tough' Disco's like your own, but those with no bar work, no flares, regular sized wheels, etc look better with something that has a more factory feel to it.

Keep an eye on ebay as I managed to pick up a brand new Safari still in the original wrapping for $400 delivered. It is an easy job to fit yourself if you take your time to ensure the hole is in the exact position required.

Did an Airflow one on Disco1 yesterday. Fitup is not very easy, template not accurate enough. Instructions almost meaningless.

Needed hot air gun settlement to get it to sit properly on the guard. Air filter position changes and care is needed in this area. Alan Howard has some picture details which are very helpful.

I am sure it'll be OK.

Thanks for the replys guys, those prices for the safari and airtec were the local townsville (north queensland) 4wd places for snorkel only! I was quite shocked, install cost was another shock, not that i will be paying for that.
