    Door Hinge?

Today when i openned my door on what was a rather steep slope (faccing down the hill) my hand slipped and my door snapped the pin on the hinge and the hinge went into the door so now my door has no means of stopping it from hitting the panel and it is also annoying as even on flat ground it wont stay still ...

Has this happened to anyone else? i guess i should just find a second hand one somewhere and bolt it on...

I think you are referring to the check strap or your door would have fallen off.

If you have broken the pin, all you need is a new pin, and to pull the check strap out of the door.

I must admit I haven't done this, so I do not know whether you have to pull the door trim off to do it.

On a RRC and I presume Disco 1 the pin is a roll pin which is just pushed into place. I just looked at mine and I am correct, however I would think you may have damaged the bracket on the door pillar as well . Is it still there?

My son opened the door from the inside one day on a hill, the door swung open with so much force that the pin acted as part of the hinge and the lower hinge bent whilst the upper hinge twisted.

The door is the only carry over bit between D1 and D2 and mate had just finished wrecking a D1 so now I have his gold hinges on my red Disco

So the point I am trying to make is parts should be easy enough to find

Yep. this happened on our Series2 Disco as well. The bracket actually tore off the A Pillar - had to weld it back on. One too many rough roads.
