Thread: What the ??? with the wiring

95 disco 300TDI.
Thought I would pass this on. Driving along at night a 100 kms from home, pulled up on side of road, turn off headlights, left parks on, opened clove to get some gear, noted dash lights went out & glove box light didnt go. Got out to have stretch & noted that rh tail & front park not going. Bugger says I must of a blown fuse, most likely glove box light shorted out. However when I turned on headlights the electically controlled adjusters had wound them down to the lowest position & even on high beam I could only light up a few meters ahead of me. At that point Im sitting there thinking who the hell but rover could wire the up a wagon in such a way that if you blow a fuse because of a crook glove box light your headlights will wind down to there low low position. Luckly I have a couple of after market clear lens fog/driving lights wire up to operate on park or high beam, via fog light switch wouldnt of been able to see much without them. Had a look a wiring diagram this morning & yep thats how they are wired up, fixed glove box light, put in new fuse, turn on park lights & the headlights wound back up to thier normal position. All a bit hardcase I thought.
