I started writing the other night what will probably happen in your pink slip...I never ended up posting but alas its exactly what has happened.

No its my second but last year the guy i went to was very harsh on me as i was on my reds...He pitted the car and made me replace every rubber on the shocks pan hard rod made me replace a light with a crack in it...which i actually had put back in after as the one i put into replace it was smashed completely in an unforeseen incident...

So i was stressing as i had been treated like dirt last year.

But this year was much better

Wow is this a scam, you guys really take it to the local mechanic(friend/relative) to pass roadworthy.
We have the hitler storm troopers here (govt department guys).
then again we dont have to get roadworthy certificates each year or everytime we sell the vehicle, but i think thats about to change

Yeah we really do take it to the local licensed mechanic but its not a simple walk in-walk out after giving them a bit of cash, no questions asked. They do have to declare that the vehicle is roadworthy and safe. If its your normal mechanic then they know the vehicle pretty well to start with and any issues it may have so its pretty painless seeing as they'd let you know of any problems through normal maintainence etc. If you take it to a totally different person, from experience they usually do give it a good looking over.

If the vehicle is involved in an incident and the vehicle is found to be obviously unroadworthy and would have been since inspection, there can be quite serious repercussions for the person who passed it - as there should be.
