reducing engine running temp
Well this one is going to sound obvious, which is why it took a while to work out.
Check the water pump for corrosion.
I got the engine reconditioned after a nasty episode with the cam and head gasket leak. The mechanic talked me into a complete rebuild.
Long story short, getting the crud cleaned off the heads and replacing the corroded water pump has had a significant effect on the running temp of the engine.
