    Windsacreen Washer Resevoir D1

Has anyone changed the washer reservoir in a D1 to a smaller unit? I am trying to find space to install a 2nd battery and it seems that if the reservoir was smaller the battery may fit into the space in front of it.

    Any suggestions?

A second battery in a D1 normally goes on the passengers side, in the same spot as the first one, right up the front.

Both D1s I've had, had a second battery there.

I think this is normally where the jack is kept, so you stick that inside somewhere.

Also, if you have the original air cleaner housing, I think you need to modify the intake. Not totally sure on that one as mine was already done.

I haven't heard of anyone fitting a different washer bottle, but it may be possible.

sounds odd for a D1 that you need to move the washer bottle.

What about the space behind each headlight?

If you relocate the coil (assuming v8), power steering reservoir and jack you have a spot for the second battery.
