Sounds like you have already done everything!

When you do a lift, albeit 1" is not much, the car in general becomes a little less stable at speed.

If you have put bigger tyres on, you may also need a stronger than original steering damper.

Or even if you just want more stable steering a beefy steering damper could be the go.

check panhard rod bushes/bolt tensions...and if ok then swivel hub/king pin preload

I have the same thing on my car sometimes it feels like I can move the wheel a fair bit either way before the car actually reacts causing what I would call free play at speed.....I dont like it either!

For this sort of problem, generally speaking, there is free play somewhere, This can be either in the steering linkage itself, which you have probably checked pretty closely, or in the locating links for front or rear axles. All bushes are suspect, but also check all bolted connections for free play, including the panhard rod bolts and the steering box mounting bolts.

If there is any sort of wobble, the first item to check is swivel preload - and any free play here will show up as steering free play, as will loose wheel bearings (jack up each wheel and see if it will move in any direction!) Other less likely, but possible problems include the pitman arm loose on the pitman shaft.
